Tarique Rahman leaves Bogura for Rangpur
BNP chairman Tarique Rahman has left Bogura for Rangpur. He stayed overnight at Hotel Naz Garden in Bogura city after attending a public rally at Altafunnessa playground on January 29.
On January 30, Tarique Rahman attended a wheelchair distribution and exchange meeting with children with special needs at Hotel Naz Garden. The wheelchairs were distributed on behalf of Dr Zubaida Rahman. He also listened to the children attentively.
After the programme, he offered Friday prayers at Baitur Rahman Central Mosque in Bogura city. He later visited the shrine of Shah Sultan Balkhi in Mahasthangarh and offered prayers.
He then addressed an election rally at Mokamtala in Shibganj upazila. After the rally, he left Shibganj for Rangpur by road.
Party sources said Tarique Rahman is visiting Rangpur after nearly two decades. He is scheduled to visit Pirganj upazila to pay tribute at the grave of Begum Rokeya University student Abu Sayeed, who was killed during the July movement. He is also expected to attend an election rally at Collectorate Eidgah ground in Rangpur city.
