Tarique Rahman steps into BNP Gulshan Office for first time since return
BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman visited the party’s Gulshan office for the first time in person since returning to Bangladesh after 17 years.
He arrived at the BNP Chairperson’s political office at Gulshan at 1:42pm on Sunday (December 28).
He was welcomed by party leaders and workers, including permanent committee members led by Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, according to the BNP media cell.
Party sources said this is Tarique Rahman’s first physical visit to the Gulshan office since its inauguration in 2008, as he had previously been either imprisoned or in exile. The office and surrounding areas were decorated in a festive atmosphere, with heightened security arrangements in place.
Since returning from London on 25 December, Tarique Rahman has been engaged in a series of activities, including receiving a reception at the airport, visiting his mother at Evercare Hospital, paying respects at the graves of late President Ziaur Rahman in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar and other national martyrs at Savar National Memorial, visiting the grave of Osman Hadi, completing voter registration at the Election Commission, and visiting the graves of his younger brother Arafat Rahman Koko, father-in-law Mahbub Ali, and the Pilkhana Shaheed soldiers.
