Tarique Rahman to visit Khaleda Zia first after returning home
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) acting chairman Tarique Rahman will return home next Thursday (December 25). On the day of his return, he will first visit his ailing mother party’s Chairperson Khaleda Zia the capital's Evercare Hospital.
BNP media cell member and convener of 'Amra BNP Paribar' Atiqur Rahman Rumon gave this information.
Rumon said: "Mother comes first in a person's life. So he will go to his mother directly from the airport. Then he will sit with senior leaders and assess the political situation."
Noting that BNP leaders want maximum security for Tarique Rahman, Rumon said that this is not just a matter of party sentiment, but also the responsibility of the state. Because Tarique Rahman is not just the leader of a political party, he is the son of the independence proclaimer martyr President Ziaur Rahman and the successor of three-time Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
The party's leaders and activists are preparing to welcome Tarique Rahman in the capital on December 25. Rumon said: "The people of Bangladesh are welcoming such a leader after a long time, so emotions will naturally rise. However, this emotion should not exceed security."
He will land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:55 am on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight. BNP reception committee convener Salahuddin Ahmed said that the route from the airport to the hospital and home has been inspected. However, the route and timing have not been finalized.
Currently, he can stay at his mother's house 'Firoza' for the time being. The house is under renovation, but he can use some rooms if necessary. His daughter Jaima Rahman will also be with him.
