Tarique Rahman wins in Dhaka-17 and Bogura-6

BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has won in the Dhaka-17 and Bogura-6 (Sadar) constituencies in the 13th National Parliamentary Election.

In Dhaka-17, Tarique Rahman was unofficially elected with 54,825 votes. His nearest rival, Jamaat candidate Dr Khaliduzzaman, received 46,840 votes. He received 7,985 votes more than Dr Khaliduzzaman.

In Bogura-6, Tarique Rahman (sheaf of paddy) received 1,61,651 votes from 116 centres. His nearest rival, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Abidur Rahman Sohel (scale), received 72,180 votes.

Bogura District Election Officer Fazlul Haque said this Sadar constituency has a total of 4,54,029 voters. Voter turnout was 71.34 per cent. Four candidates contested against Tarique Rahman in this seat.
