The nomination of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman for the Bogura-6 (Sadar) constituency has been declared valid by the district administration and returning officer. After scrutiny at 10:25am on Saturday (January 3), his nomination papers were approved. The nomination of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Abidur Rahman Sohel in the same constituency was also validated. Meanwhile, the nomination of Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) candidate Dilruba Noori was cancelled for failing to submit her income tax return, according to sources at the returning officer’s office.

বিএনপির ভারপ্রাপ্ত চেয়ারম্যান তারেক রহমানের বগুড়া-৬ (সদর) আসনে মনোনয়নপত্র বৈধ ঘোষণা করেছেন জেলা প্রশাসক ও রিটার্নিং কর্মকর্তা। শনিবার (৩ জানুয়ারি) সকাল ১০টা ২৫ মিনিটে যাচাই-বাছাই শেষে তার মনোনয়নপত্রটি বৈধতা পায়। একই আসনে বাংলাদেশ জামায়াতে ইসলামী মনোনীত প্রার্থী আবিদুর রহমান সোহেলের মনোনয়নপত্রও বৈধ ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে। অন্যদিকে, বাংলাদেশের সমাজতান্ত্রিক দল (বাসদ) মনোনীত প্রার্থী দিলরুবা নূরীর মনোনয়নপত্র বাতিল করা হয়েছে। রিটার্নিং কর্মকর্তার কার্যালয় সূত্রে জানা গেছে, আয়কর রিটার্ন দাখিল না করায় তার মনোনয়নপত্র বাতিলের সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়।
