Teacher killed in motorcycle accident in Khagrachhari

A school teacher was killed after being hit by a speeding motorcycle in Khagrachhari's Panchhari.

The accident took place at the Baburopara area of the upazila on Saturday afternoon (November 8).

The deceased was identified as Sena Ranjan Tripura, 32, a resident of Chinala Chigon Chanpara in Panchhari. He had joined Logang High School as an assistant teacher four months ago after completing his post-graduation in Sanskrit from the University of Chittagong.

According to witnesses, he was walking home after school when the accident occurred. He was first taken to Khagrachhari Sadar Hospital and later to a private hospital in Chattogram, where doctors on-duty declared him dead.

Former Logang UP Chairman Prottuttor Chakma said Sena Ranjan came from a poor family and was the main breadwinner for his parents and two children.

Panchhari Police Station OC Jasim Uddin confirmed the incident but said no formal complaint had been filed.
