Teachers and doctors likely to be excluded from BCS cadre
The Public Administration Reforms Commission will recommend the removal of health and education cadres from the existing 26 cadres of the Public Service Commission (PSC). In that case, the commission will recommend separate appointments in education and health for the appointment of teachers and doctors.
During a view-sharing session with journalists at the Secretariat on Tuesday (December 17), Public Administration Reforms Commission Chief Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury and Public Administration Ministry Senior Secretary and Public Administration Reforms Commission Member Secretary Md. Mokhles Ur Rahman gave this information.
Mokhles Ur Rahman said, “The commission does not think that education and health need to remain like this. It will be recommended to make separate appointments in education and health.”
Commission Chief Abdul Mueed Chowdhury said, “The education cadre is unreasonable. Health and education are separate. We have recommended that it cannot be kept as a cadre. An ophthalmologist, a dentist, a general physician; are they getting promotions together? That is why we are saying that it cannot be kept as a cadre, this is our concern. It has become unreasonable to make it a cadre. These should be separated. Salaries will be increased. Except for these two departments, all the rest will remain cadres. This is our idea.”
Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Mokhles Ur Rahman, said, “Our Judicial Service Commission has been separated by moving away from the Public Service Commission. Just like we have suggested separating the health cadre and the education cadre. It will be done.”
However, the entire matter depends on the government. If the government accepts this recommendation, only then will education and health be excluded or separated from the existing cadre of BCS.
