A 17-year-old girl named Nagmani allegedly died by suicide on Thursday night (July 10) after failing this year's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination in the capital's Gendaria area. According to her father, B Krishna, Nagmani became deeply distressed upon learning of her failure in the exam. Later that evening, she was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her room. She was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in an unconscious state, where the on-duty doctors declared her dead around 9:30pm. Md Faruk, inspector of the DMCH Police Outpost, confirmed this. "The body has been kept in the hospital morgue for autopsy, and the local police station has been notified," he said.

রাজধানীর গেন্ডারিয়া এলাকায় এসএসসি পরীক্ষায় অকৃতকার্য হওয়ায় নাগমণি (১৭) নামে এক কিশোরীর আত্মহত্যার অভিযোগ উঠেছে। বৃহস্পতিবার (১০ জুলাই) রাত সাড়ে ৯টার দিকে তার ঝুলন্ত মরদেহ উদ্ধার করা হয়। নিহতের বাবা বি কৃষ্ণ জানান, তার মেয়ে এবার এসএসসি পরীক্ষায় উত্তীর্ণ হতে পারেনি। ফল প্রকাশের পর গভীর মানসিক কষ্টে সে নিজ কক্ষে সিলিং ফ্যানে ওড়না পেঁচিয়ে আত্মহত্যা করে। অচেতন অবস্থায় তাকে দ্রুত ঢাকা মেডিক্যাল কলেজ (ঢামেক) হাসপাতালে নেওয়া হলে চিকিৎসক মৃত ঘোষণা করেন। ঢামেক হাসপাতাল পুলিশ ফাঁড়ির পরিদর্শক মো. ফারুক ঘটনার সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করেছেন। তিনি বলেন, মরদেহ ময়নাতদন্তের জন্য হাসপাতাল মর্গে রাখা হয়েছে। বিষয়টি সংশ্লিষ্ট থানায় জানানো হয়েছে।
