Teenage worker found dead at showroom owner’s house in Lalpur

Police have recovered the body of a teenage worker from the house of a showroom owner in Lalpur upazila of Natore.

The deceased was identified as Shuvo Islam, 14, son of Faruk Hossain of Tirail area in Bagatipara upazila. He worked as an employee at “M/s Sohan Enterprise,” a local mobile phone business.

His body was recovered from the house at Dhupoil Bazar in Walia Union of the upazila on Saturday evening (May 16).

According to police and local sources, Shuvo was working at the Doyarampur branch of the showroom and had been staying at the owner Abdul Hakim’s residence in Dhupoil due to work arrangements.

Manager of M/s Sohan Enterprise, Nahid Hossain, said Shuvo had complained of feeling unwell on Saturday morning and entered a room in the owner’s house around 8:30am, locking the door from inside. When he did not respond for hours, family members repeatedly called him. Around 5:00pm, they forced the door open and found him hanging inside the room. Police were then informed.

Lalpur Police recovered the body from the scene and sent it to the police station.

Shafiqur Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Lalpur Police Station, said, "The incident is initially being treated as a suspected suicide. However, the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report."

A case of unnatural death has been filed in connection with the incident, the OC added.
