Teesta master plan to be finalised by end of the year : Rizwana

The Teesta master plan is set to be finalised by the end of this year, said Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser to the interim government on Water Resources and Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

Speaking at Syedpur Airport on Tuesday, Rizwana said the groundwork has already been completed and that the plan involves cooperation between China and Bangladesh, requiring agreement from both sides.

She added that final discussions with experts on five key issues will take place on July 17. After that, the proposal will be submitted to the government and reviewed by the Economic Relations Division (ERD) before being sent to Chinese authorities for approval. Implementation will begin once the report is accepted.

Rizwana Hasan later left for Kurigram by road. Nilphamari Deputy Commissioner Md Nayiruzzaman, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nur-e-Alam Siddiqui, and other officials were present.
