Teesta Master Plan will start on time: Relief Minister

Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu has said that the Teesta Master Plan work will start on time. The Prime Minister has given instructions to the ministers concerned. We will not stop – we will implement the project and leave.

He made the remarks in response to a question from journalists in Lalmonirhat on Friday afternoon (February 20).

He also said that the 'Family Card' program will be launched on a priority basis before the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr. Initially, the pilot project will be started in eight upazilas of the country. Later, every truly poor family in the country will be included. The main goal of the government is to reach the people with government assistance directly and transparently.

The minister said that the country's canal digging program will be implemented in collaboration with three ministries during the upcoming dry season. In addition, a plan has been taken to plant five crore trees in the country this year. The government is determined to control commodity prices and ensure uninterrupted power supply on the occasion of Ramadan and Eid.

He said, "All measures are being taken to ensure that the people of the country can move freely and the law and order situation remains normal in a disaster situation. It is also our responsibility to inquire into the earthquake incident and take necessary steps." He also told the local leaders and activists to engage themselves in public welfare work while maintaining the party's ideology. Play an active role in serving the common people. Our Prime Minister Tarique Rahman wants to work with everyone for the development of the country. We all have to cooperate."
