Temperature drops again to 9 degrees in Panchagarh
The cold in Panchagarh continues to intensify. On Sunday (December 22), the temperature was recorded at 9.8 degrees Celsius at 6 a.m. in this northern region. Earlier, on December 21, the temperature at the same time was 10.4 degrees Celsius.
Jitendranath Roy, acting officer of the Tetulia Weather Observatory, said, "The temperature has dropped to the 9-degree range again today. At 6 am on Sunday, it was recorded at 9.8 degrees Celsius, and it might decrease further by 9 am."
He added that a mild cold wave is declared when the temperature ranges between 10 and 8 degrees Celsius. This is considered a mild cold wave.
Meanwhile, the increasing cold has led to a rise in patients suffering from colds, fevers, diarrhea, and pneumonia in various hospitals across the district. Children and the elderly are particularly affected. Outpatient departments in district and sub-district hospitals are seeing more patients daily, and many are being admitted due to severe illness. Doctors are advising patients to seek necessary medical care and take precautions to stay safe in the cold.
