Tetulia records lowest temperature in country for fourth day
Tetulia in Panchagarh has recorded the lowest temperature in the country for four consecutive days. At 9am today, Sunday, the temperature there was 10.5 degrees Celsius. Although heavy fog covered the area from night to morning, sunlight became visible as the day progressed.
According to the local weather observatory, the same temperature was recorded in Tetulia on Saturday. On Friday, 12 degrees Celsius was recorded in both Tetulia and Srimangal, while on Thursday the same temperature was recorded in Tetulia and Badalgachhi of Naogaon.
Jitendra Nath Roy, acting officer at the observatory, said mild cold-wave conditions are becoming noticeable due to continued minimum temperature, and temperatures may drop further due to cold winds blowing from the north.
Roads and open spaces appeared nearly empty in the morning due to dense fog, but as the sun emerged later, daytime temperature rose slightly. Yesterday, the highest daytime temperature was recorded at 26.5 degrees Celsius.
