National Citizens Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam has declared that extortionists will have no place in the "new Bangladesh."

Speaking as the chief guest at a road meeting organised by the NCP Satkhira district branch at Shaheed Asif Chattar, Nahid Islam stated, "We have driven out Hasina, and we will not hesitate to drive out extortionists. Bangladesh must be rebuilt on the foundation of justice."

He reiterated key demands of the NCP, including constitutional reform and accountability for the July massacre, criticizing groups resisting these changes. "They thought they could buy us off with 2–3 seats. But they’ve forgotten—those who led the July revolution are not for sale," he said.

Addressing the crowd, he emphasized the sacrifices made by the people of Satkhira in the movement. "The blood of our martyrs, including those from Satkhira, must not go in vain. We must ensure justice, dignity, and rights for the coastal region."

Nahid also announced that a major political programme would be declared in Dhaka on August 3, urging citizens across the country to join in mass participation.

The meeting was led by NCP Satkhira District Coordinator Kamruzzaman Bulu. Southern Region Joint Chief Organizer Mejbah Kamal and Dr Tasnim Zara also spoke at the event.

Before the event, central NCP leaders met with families of those killed and injured during the July movement, offering their support. A march followed the meeting, starting from Amtala intersection and concluding at Shaheed Asif Square. After the program, NCP leaders departed for Bagerhat.
