This election will strengthen the progress of Bangladesh: Obaidul Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that this election will strengthen the progress of the country.

He said: “The whole world witnessed the victory of the people of Bangladesh through the elections as they cast votes for their preferred candidates freely.”

He said this in a press conference at the Dhaka District Awami League office after the 12th National Parliament election ended at 4pm on Sunday.

Noting that there was no incident of any kind of coercion or intimidation, he expressed his gratitude to the Election Commission, law enforcement agencies, foreign observers and media for making the elections fair.

On behalf of Bangladesh Awami League, he also thanked all the voters for making the election a festive one.

Regarding BNP's vote boycott, he said that the people have boycotted the party through this election. “They have killed democracy by launching arson attacks and enforcing strikes and blockades.”
