This is your country; never feel helpless, Asif Nazrul to Hindus
Advising Hindus not to fall into the traps of any political party, Dr. Asif Nazrul, advisor to the interim government's Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, said, "You are the people of Bangladesh; you should move forward with independent judgment. No party has played with you less. Since we came to power, it has been felt that enough is enough."
He said, "You will feel like everyone else in Bangladesh; this is your country. Never feel endangered or helpless."
He made these remarks as the chief guest at an exchange meeting with the Hindu community on the occasion of the Sharadiya Durga Puja at the Shree Shree Mahaprabhu’s Ashram in Sirajganj on Friday (October 11).
Asif Nazrul said, "On behalf of our government, under the leadership of the chief advisor and with the support of the anti-discrimination student movement, we will do everything possible for you."
He further said, "The sacrifices made by the students and the public to build a new Bangladesh must not be wasted in any way. This country has many dreams. Among them, one is that people of all religions and opinions live together. We are all citizens of Bangladesh."
"During the anti-discrimination movement, Hindus, Muslims, and Christians were not separated. We all participated in the movement, felt endangered, lost lives, and were injured. When danger comes, religion and identity do not matter," he added.
