This parliament will be the most law-enforcing since independence: Salahuddin
Salahuddin Ahmed, a member of BNP's standing committee, has said that the upcoming parliament will be the most law-enforcing parliament since independence.
He made this remark while speaking to media personnel in front of the BNP chairman's office in Gulshan on Friday, February 13.
Salahuddin said the people of the country have long been expecting an effective and accountable parliament. He expressed optimism that the new parliament will reflect those expectations.
He stated that ensuring the proper enforcement of laws, not just their formulation, will be the parliament's main objective.
Salahuddin Ahmed said utmost importance will be given to establishing the rule of law, achieving economic prosperity and eliminating corruption. Necessary democratic reforms of the state structure will also be advanced through this parliament.
He expressed hope that once the results are formally announced through gazette notification, members of parliament will take oath following constitutional procedures and commence activities swiftly.
The BNP leader sought cooperation from political parties, civil society and the general public to build the desired Bangladesh.
