Interim government adviser Mahfuz Alam said that the uprising belongs to everyone and that progress must be made together. He made these comments in a Facebook post early Wednesday.

Mahfuz Alam wrote, "This uprising belongs to everyone. That is why I rejected the media hype about the so-called mastermind from the start. The decision-makers spoke to many stakeholders before making decisions. To finalize a decision, we had to listen to the opinions of at least five to six groups and analyze them. Therefore, this is the collective strategic capability of the decision-making body, as well as the result of the participation and consultation of many groups of people. No one is insignificant. And the people didn’t wait for anyone’s decision from July 19-33."

He said, "We need to move forward together, but excluding the saboteurs. Sabotage, backstabbing, and disregarding the honor code are threats to any arrangement. Politics is not about having a ‘gentleman’s agreement.’ Those who think it is, need to rethink."

Mahfuz Alam also mentioned, "Some of my statements may have hurt some people, especially when I referred to the 'Touhidi Janata.' I sincerely apologize to those who were upset by my remarks. If any of my statements in the past months have caused hurt or appeared divisive, I am open to reevaluating them. Maintaining a balanced, non-divisive, and non-tagging stance is essential for unity among the people. We don’t want to be either oppressors or the oppressed."

He continued, "Our enemies are countless and powerful. Our allies are few. If we can ease up a bit and increase our alliances while defeating our enemies, it will ultimately benefit the people of this country."

"Unity of all forces in the people’s uprising is our goal. We had the potential to create a historic bloc, and that possibility still exists. Anti-fascist and pro-Bangladesh forces must engage in positive political competition among themselves. Under no circumstances should fascist forces be allowed space in politics," he added.
