Three buses, a private car set on fire in Dhaka overnight
Three buses and a private car were set on fire in different parts of the capital in the early hours of Tuesday (November 11).
The incidents took place between midnight and dawn in Jatrabari, Rayerbagh, Bashundhara Gate, and Uttara areas.
According to the Fire Service control room, the first fire broke out at 12:54am in a Rajdhani Paribahan bus at Rayerbagh. Later, at 2:08am, another bus of Raida Paribahan caught fire in Jatrabari’s Kajla area.
Md. Shajahan Mia, duty officer at Fire Service Control Room, said, "Two fire service units brought the blaze under control around 2:30am, with an estimated loss of about Tk 5 lakh."
At 2:35am, a private car caught fire near Bashundhara Gate along the 100 Feet Road. Firefighters and law enforcement personnel rushed to the scene and extinguished the flames.
The final incident occurred around 4:00am in Uttara's Khalpar area, where miscreants set another Raida Paribahan bus on fire. The fire was brought under control by 4:20am.
All three buses were parked by the roadside at the time of the incidents. No casualties were reported, though panic spread among residents in the affected areas.
