Three die of Dengue in a day, 331 hospitalized

In the last 24 hours (from Friday 8 a.m. to Saturday 8 a.m.), three people died of dengue fever, and 331 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country.

These figures were shared in a press release issued on Saturday (July 26) by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to the release, the highest number of new hospitalizations occurred in the Barisal division, with 132 patients admitted. Outside Dhaka division, 73 patients were admitted, followed by 47 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 28 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 30 in Chattogram, 18 in Khulna, and 3 in Mymensingh.

During the same 24-hour period, 275 dengue patients were discharged after treatment. So far this year, a total of 17,693 patients have recovered and been released from hospitals.

From January to date, a total of 19,120 people have been hospitalized due to dengue in 2025, with 73 reported deaths.

In comparison, in 2024 (January 1 to December 31), Bangladesh recorded 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths. The year before, in 2023, saw a record 321,179 dengue infections and 1,705 deaths—the highest annual dengue death toll on record in the country.
