Three hand bombs have exploded at two places of Dhaka University — two in front of Jagannath Hall and one on the road adjacent to the metro rail station beside TSC.

These explosions occurred around 11pm on Tuesday (September 15). The university’s proctor office informed that information on whether anyone was injured could not be immediately obtained.

The university authorities have not yet been able to confirm who caused these hand bomb explosions or whether there is any connection between the incidents.

Yusuf Harun, chief of the security staff team of the proctor office, said that after talking to eyewitnesses it was learned that no vehicle was seen passing through that road at the time of the cocktail explosion in front of Jagannath Hall.

He said, “We are assuming that someone may have thrown it from above Jagannath Hall.”

Regarding the explosion on the road adjacent to the metro rail station beside TSC, Yusuf Harun said, “Someone threw it while on a bike and left.”
