Three injured in AC explosion in Narinda

Three members of a family were injured when an air conditioner exploded on the second floor of their house in Narinda of Old Dhaka.

The victims — Muktar Bapari, his wife Selina Begum, and their son Selim Bapari — were admitted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in serious condition.

The explosion took place around 12:45am on Friday (February 27), according to fire service officials.

Khaleda Akter, an officer at the Fire Service control room, said the explosion in the AC unit triggered a fire that spread across the second floor of the five-story building near Kachabazar in Wari.

Fire units from Shutrarpur Fire Station were dispatched immediately, but locals had already managed to bring the blaze under control before their arrival.

Md Faruk, officer at the police post of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, confirmed the admission of the injured family members.
