Three injured in Juba Dal-Chhatra Dal clash over fuel queue in Jessore

At least three people have been injured in a clash between activists of Juba Dal and Chhatra Dal over a dispute concerning queuing for fuel oil at a filling station in Chougacha upazila, Jessore.

The incident took place at RS Filling Station in Chougacha municipality around 1:00 pm on Monday, April 13.

According to local sources, an argument first broke out between Riad Hossain, a member of the convener committee of Chougacha upazila Juba Dal, and Babu, a member of the upazila Chhatra Dal convener committee, over queuing. The situation later escalated and spread to supporters of both sides, turning into a clash.

The injured are Shamim Hossain, 27; Kajol, 38; and Tony, 33. Locals rescued them and admitted them to Chougacha Upazila Health Complex.

Doctors said the injured had been given primary treatment and were admitted to the surgery ward.

Although tension spread in the area following the incident, law enforcement agencies later arrived and brought the situation under control. Police said the situation is currently normal.

Chougacha Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Nurul Amin said, "The situation is now under control. No complaint has been received. Legal action will be taken if any complaint is filed."
