Three killed in separate road accidents in capital

Three people, including an unidentified individual, have been killed in separate road accidents in Dhaka. The incidents occurred between early morning and midnight on Thursday, June 11, in the Demra, Airport area and Bijoy Sharani.

Police said an unidentified person, aged around 30, was killed after being hit by a speeding vehicle on the expressway bridge opposite the staff quarter police box under Demra Police Station around 4:30 am. He was wearing a black shirt and trousers.

Demra Police Station Sub-Inspector Shital Kumar said the victim's body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Meanwhile, around 11:00 pm on Wednesday, Md Nazrul Islam, 50, was injured after being hit by a vehicle on the main road adjacent to the One-Stop CNG pump, north of Airport Railway Station. He was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition and died around 4:15 am on Thursday. Nazrul Islam's home was in West Alipur village in Dashmina upazila, Patuakhali. He had been living in Saudi Arabia for a long time and returned to the country around one and a half years ago.

Additionally, Yakub Ali, 50, an electrician, was killed after a microbus hit his motorcycle on Bijoy Sharani around midnight on Wednesday. Manik Yasin, son of the deceased, said the accident occurred when a microbus hit him from behind while he was returning home on a ride-sharing motorcycle. He was taken to hospital in critical condition but died around 2:15 am.

Inspector Md Faruk of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp confirmed the matter.
