Three men beaten to death on suspicion of cattle theft

Three men were beaten to death in Pabna by a crowd that accused them of stealing cows. At least four others were injured in this incident. The injured have been admitted to Bhangura Upazila Health Complex.

The incident took place in Betuan village of Dilpashar union under Bhangura upazila in the early hours of Saturday (January 6).

According to the locals, a gang of thieves stole cows from the Mirzapur area in Pabna. The thieves tried to flee with the cows through the Gumani River in a boat as the residents gathered in the area. At one stage, local people chased the thieves and beat them up mercilessly at Betuan Ghat in Bhangura, leaving them dead.

Nazmul Haque, OC of Bhangura Police Station, confirmed the recovery of three bodies and two weapons, but their identities were not identified immediately.
