Three science and technology universities get new VCs

The government has appointed new vice-chancellors to three science and technology universities — Patuakhali University of Science and Technology, Pirojpur University of Science and Technology and Lakshmipur University of Science and Technology.

The Ministry of Education's Secondary and Higher Education Division issued separate notifications on Monday, June 8.

According to the notifications, Professor S M Hemayet Jahan of the Department of Entomology under the Faculty of Agriculture has been appointed as the new vice-chancellor of Patuakhali University of Science and Technology. He was serving as the pro-vice-chancellor of the same university.

Professor Mohammad Sbirul Islam Hawlader of the Department of Arabic at Rajshahi University has been appointed as vice-chancellor of Pirojpur University of Science and Technology.

Professor Mohammad Hanif Murad of the Department of Applied Mathematics at Noakhali University of Science and Technology has been appointed as vice-chancellor of Lakshmipur University of Science and Technology. He was serving as the treasurer of Noakhali University of Science and Technology.

The notifications stated that the tenure of the three vice-chancellors will be four years from the date of joining.
