The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms with gusty winds of up to 60 kilometres per hour in Dhaka and 14 other districts by midday on Tuesday, June 23. The weather office has issued a warning for the inland river ports of these areas from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm. According to the forecast, temporary gusty or squally winds of 45-60 kmph, blowing from the south or south-east, may occur over Rangpur, Dinajpur, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet regions. Rain or thundershowers are also likely during this time. River ports in these areas have been asked to hoist warning signal number one.

রাজধানী ঢাকাসহ দেশের ১৫টি জেলায় দুপুরের মধ্যে ঘণ্টায় সর্বোচ্চ ৬০ কিলোমিটার বেগে ঝড়ো হাওয়া ও বজ্রসহ বৃষ্টির পূর্বাভাস দিয়েছে বাংলাদেশ আবহাওয়া অধিদপ্তর। মঙ্গলবার (২৩ জুন) ভোর ৫টা থেকে দুপুর ১টা পর্যন্ত দেশের অভ্যন্তরীণ নদীবন্দরগুলোর জন্য দেওয়া এক সতর্কবার্তায় এই তথ্য জানানো হয়েছে। পূর্বাভাস অনুযায়ী— রংপুর, দিনাজপুর, বগুড়া, টাঙ্গাইল, ময়মনসিংহ, ঢাকা, ফরিদপুর, খুলনা, বরিশাল, পটুয়াখালী, কুমিল্লা, নোয়াখালী, চট্টগ্রাম, কক্সবাজার এবং সিলেট অঞ্চলের ওপর দিয়ে দক্ষিণ বা দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব দিক থেকে ঘণ্টায় ৪৫ থেকে ৬০ কিলোমিটার বেগে অস্থায়ীভাবে দমকা অথবা ঝড়ো হাওয়া বয়ে যেতে পারে। সেই সঙ্গে এসব এলাকার কোথাও কোথাও বৃষ্টি অথবা বজ্রসহ বৃষ্টি হতে পারে। ঝড়ো আবহাওয়ার কারণে এসব অঞ্চলের নদীবন্দরগুলোকে ১ নম্বর নৌ সতর্ক সংকেত দেখাতে বলা হয়েছে। নদীপথে চলাচলকারী নৌযানগুলোকে সাবধানে যাতায়াত করতে পরামর্শ দিয়েছে আবহাওয়া অফিস।
