Thunderstorms with gusty winds likely in 9 districts

The Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of thunderstorms with gusty or gusty winds in 9 districts of the country.

The forecast for the country's inland river ports from 5am to 1pm has said that there may be rain or thunderstorms with gusty or gusty winds from the west or northwest at a speed of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour over the Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet regions on Thursday (April 30).

The forecast also says that due to these gusty winds, river navigation may become risky. In such a situation, river ports in the concerned areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1.

Meanwhile, in the forecast released on Wednesday night, the Meteorological Department said that light to moderate rain accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds and thundershowers may occur in many places of Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Sylhet divisions and some places of Rangpur and Chittagong divisions by 6pm today. At the same time, moderate to heavy to very heavy rain may occur in some places of Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions.
