Tk50 lakh reward announced to track down Osman Hadi attackers

Home Affiars Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has announced a reward of Tk 50 lakh for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the attack on Osman Hadi, sprokesperson of Inqilab Mancha and a potential independent candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency.

The announcement was made during a briefing to journalists after a core committee meeting on law and order at the Ministry of Home Affairs conference room in the Secretariat on Saturday (December 13).

The Home Affairs Adviser said those involved in the attack would be swiftly brought to justice. "Such incidents are aimed at disrupting and sabotaging the parliamentary election process," he added.

Earlier on Saturday, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed that one suspect has been preliminarily identified in connection with the shooting of Osman Hadi. The police have urged anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.

The police notice requested that if anyone has information about the suspect or their whereabouts, they should immediately contact DC Motijheel at 01320040080, OC Paltan at 01320040132, or the national emergency number 999.

The identity of informants will be kept confidential, and a suitable reward will be provided, the notice read.
