Tourist killed, 3 injured in Kuakata road accident

A teenage tourist named Jisan, 17, was killed and three others injured after a motorcycle lost control on the Lembur Forest Point road in Kuakata, Patuakhali, on Tuesday morning, June 1.

The injured have been identified as Rabbi, 18, and Abir, 16, along with a female pedestrian named Mim, who was also seriously injured.

According to witnesses, Jisan, Rabbi and Abir were on a motorcycle when a pedestrian attempted to cross the road. The rider lost control trying to avoid hitting her, causing the motorcycle to skid off the road. All three riders were seriously injured, and the pedestrian was also hurt.

Locals took the injured to Kuakata 20-bed Hospital, where doctors declared Jisan dead. Rabbi and Abir received primary treatment, while Mim was transferred to Patuakhali 50-bed Hospital for advanced care.

Mahipur Police Station Investigation Officer Animesh Halder said police are at the hospital and legal procedures are underway. An investigation will be conducted.
