Train movement on the Dhaka-Mymensingh railway line resumed around 7:00 pm on Monday, May 11, after a two-and-a-half-hour suspension following an engine fire on the moving Mohanganj Express.

The incident occurred around 4:30 pm in the Auliyanagar area of Trishal upazila in Mymensingh. Smoke was seen coming from under the engine of the Mohanganj Express, which was heading from Dhaka to Mohanganj in Netrokona. The driver quickly stopped the train and brought the fire under control.

Mymensingh Railway Police Station OC Md Akhtar Hossain confirmed the matter. Train movement on the route was halted as the engine could not be restarted.

An alternative engine was brought from Mymensingh Railway Junction, and after it was attached, train movement resumed around 7:00 pm. The train then departed for its destination.
