Trains to sound 30-second horns in protest against Israel's genocide in Gaza
In protest against Israel's genocide in Gaza, locomotive masters of Bangladesh Railway across the country have decided to sound the horns of trains for 30 seconds.
This unique protest will take place at 11.00am on Wednesday (April 9).
Earlier on Tuesday night (April 8), Md Mojibur Rahman, the General Secretary of the Bangladesh Railway Running Staff and Workers’ Union, confirmed the matter to the media.
He said, "In protest against Israel's genocide, we have decided to sound the horn for 30 seconds at 11.00am on April 9. Locomotives across the country, whether on trains, in sheds, or at stations, will sound their horns together for 30 seconds. This is a decision made by our union."
"As a Muslim country, we want to protest in this way. We strongly condemn the genocide being carried out by Israel. We request Muslims worldwide to raise their voices against this issue," he added.
