Transparency and accountability essential in land services: Senior Secretary
ASM Saleh Ahmed, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Land, emphasized the critical importance of transparency, accountability, and a citizen-friendly approach in the delivery of land services. Speaking at a workshop on “Good Governance and Ethics and the Relationship of Values Education with Good Governance” held at the Ministry’s conference room in the Secretariat, he stated that ensuring corruption-free and harassment-free services is vital to maintaining public satisfaction.
The workshop, held on Sunday, aimed to promote ethical standards and good governance within the ministry. The Senior Secretary highlighted that the Ministry of Land has adopted a zero-tolerance stance against corruption and has introduced online land management and digital services to facilitate smoother and more efficient service delivery.
“By working together, we can effectively fulfill the ministry’s responsibilities,” he said. “Ethics and good governance are complementary forces that ensure transparency, fairness, and accountability in society — all essential for the country’s welfare.”
He further underscored the ministry’s commitment to serving citizens with honesty, empathy, respect, and a strong sense of responsibility, reinforcing the importance of maintaining ethical standards in land services.
