Trial of Ramisa rape, murder case to begin on June 1: Law minister
The trial of the rape and murder case of child Ramisa will begin on June 1, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman has said.
The minister made the remark while speaking as the chief guest at a merit and mindfulness festival at Shailkupa Degree College ground in Jhenaidah on Wednesday afternoon, May 27.
"The response to Ramisa's father's frustration will be given through the verdict," the law minister said. "We will ensure justice. We will take all necessary steps to conclude the trial of those facing the death penalty as quickly as possible."
The minister noted the brutality of the Ramisa murder case in Mirpur, Dhaka. He said when journalists asked him about the father's frustration, he had replied that the response to that frustration could only be given through justice in the case.
He said he had promised the charge sheet would be submitted within a week, and it was submitted even before that. The court will open on June 1, and the trial will begin that day.
He added that the trials of all death penalty cases, including the murder of Ashiya, will also be concluded very quickly.
