Tuhin, Anas, Fahim arrested in Oprotim murder
Police have arrested three persons named Tuhin, Anas and Fahim in the murder of Ishayat Shahriar Apratim, son of Comilla University Bangla department teacher Dr Nahida Begum.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Cumilla Sadar South Police Station Mohammad Rokibul Islam confirmed the matter on Saturday (September 19) night.
He said Tuhin was arrested around 3:30pm on Saturday afternoon. Tuhin was seen with Oprotim in the Comilla University campus area in CCTV footage.
They had stayed there for about an hour.
After that Anas was arrested around 7pm and Fahim was arrested about half an hour later, around 7:30pm.
OC Mohammad Rokibul Islam said, “Suspects Tuhin, Anas and Fahim have been arrested for interrogation. Our operation is ongoing.”
Notably, 13-year-old Oprotim went missing after leaving home with his mother’s mobile phone to take photos with friends around 3pm on Friday (September 18) afternoon. After that family members, teachers and students of Comilla University and police conducted searches in various places to find him.
About 21 hours after going missing, Oprotim’s body was recovered from a jungle in the Kotbari area of Cumilla on Saturday afternoon.
