Turkish FM visits Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan visited the Balukhali Rohingya camp in Ukhia, Cox's Bazar, on Friday afternoon, June 5. He toured various camps in the Palangkhali union and the field hospital operated with Turkish assistance.

After concluding his visit to Dhaka, Fidan arrived in Cox's Bazar by air. Around 4:00 pm, he visited the Balukhali Rohingya camp number 9, where he inspected the field hospital established with Turkish funding and spoke with Rohingya patients receiving treatment there.

He also visited camps 16 and 17 and inquired about the activities of the field hospitals in those camps built with Turkish support.

Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir, Ukhia Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rifat Asma, Ukhia Police Station OC Mohammad Mujibur Rahman, and officials from the 8 Armed Police Battalion, RAB-15 and other law enforcement agencies were present during the visit.

Commander of 8 APBN Riaz Uddin Ahmad confirmed the matter, saying security measures were strengthened in the camp area and the Turkish foreign minister's visit was completed peacefully.
