The government has appointed two senior Bangladesh Army officers as ambassadors. In this regard, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on Sunday, September 21. The appointees are Major General Kabir Ahmed of the Bangladesh Army and Major General Sheikh Md Sarwar Hossain, Chairman of the Bangladesh Tea Board. The notification said their services have been placed under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for appointment on deputation as ambassadors.

বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর দুই জ্যেষ্ঠ কর্মকর্তাকে রাষ্ট্রদূত হিসেবে নিয়োগ দিয়েছে সরকার। এ বিষয়ে রোববার (২১ সেপ্টেম্বর) জনপ্রশাসন মন্ত্রণালয় প্রজ্ঞাপন জারি করেছে। নিয়োগপ্রাপ্তরা হলেন সেনাবাহিনীর মেজর জেনারেল কবীর আহাম্মদ এবং বাংলাদেশ চা বোর্ডের চেয়ারম্যান মেজর জেনারেল শেখ মো. সরওয়ার হোসেন। প্রজ্ঞাপনে বলা হয়, রাষ্ট্রদূত পদে প্রেষণে নিয়োগের জন্য তাদের চাকরি পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ে ন্যস্ত করা হয়েছে।
