Police have arrested two individuals in connection with the murder of 15-year-old Rihan Uddin Mahin in Chattogram's Fatikchari.

The arrested accused are Noman, 22, and Azad, 23, both residents of Moddho Kanchannagar village. Three other suspects—Nazim Uddin, Taiyeb, and Mohiuddin—remain at large.

Mahin, the son of local grocery shopkeeper Muhammad Lokman, was a resident of Ward No. 5 in Kanchannagar Union.

On Friday (August 22), Khadija Begum, Mahin's mother, filed a murder case at Fatikchari Police Station, naming five people and seven unidentified suspects.

According to locals, Mahin and two other teenagers were resting near Chenga Bridge on Friday (August 22) when they were confronted by youths suspecting them of theft. The attackers forced the teenagers from a nearby under-construction building, tied them on the bridge, and beat them. Mahin died on the spot, while the other two, Manik and Rahat, were critically injured and hospitalised.

Nur Ahmed, officer-in-charge (OC) of Fatikchari Police Station, said, "The attack was planned and stemmed from a previous dispute. The two arrested suspects were sent to court on Saturday (August 28), where the judge ordered their imprisonment."

"Efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects in the case," he added.
