Two bodies recovered from tea garden in Moulvibazar
Police recovered the bodies of a young man and a woman from a tea garden in Rajnagar upazila of Moulvibazar on Sunday morning (August 16).
The deceased were identified as Mangal Bauri, 35, and Binata Bauri, 32, residents of the Udna tea garden area in Rajnagar.
Police said a garden watchman spotted the pair at the Matiaura Tea Garden’s Section 20 in Tengra Union in the morning and informed the authorities. Police later went to the scene and recovered the bodies.
According to local sources, Mangal and Binata had married at a court about a month ago. Both had been married previously and had children. Their marriage reportedly led to tensions within their families.
Police said they are looking into the circumstances surrounding the deaths. A preliminary assessment suggests the pair may have died by suicide amid family conflict, although the circumstances have yet to be established conclusively.
Rajnagar police chief Enamul Haque Chowdhury said the matter was being investigated and that the exact circumstances would be determined after further examination.
