Two HSC examinees under the Chattogram Education Board will take their exams on Saturday night, July 4, following the religious observances of the Seventh-day Adventist Christian community. Under the same special arrangement, a total of 160 examinees across the country will sit for their exams.

The Chattogram Education Board said the special measure has been taken for students who cannot take exams during the day for religious reasons, as the current HSC exam schedule includes six Saturdays with exams.

One of the two examinees is Engeli Suari Tripura, a student of Cambrian College in Halishahar, Chattogram. The other will take the exam from a centre in Bandarban district.

According to board directives, like other examinees, they must arrive at the centre by 9:30 am on Saturday. However, they will not enter the exam hall but will remain in a designated separate room. They will begin writing their answer scripts after sunset and will finish at 10:00 pm.

They will not be allowed to carry any items except their admit cards. They cannot leave the room or communicate with anyone. An invigilator will supervise them at all times, but they will be allowed to carry dry food.

Chattogram Education Board Examination Controller Professor Dr Parvez Sajjad Chowdhury said all necessary preparations have been made for the students to take the exam according to their religious observances. Exams have been scheduled on Saturdays this time to maintain the academic calendar and ensure that subsequent session exams can be held on time.

According to Seventh-day Adventist beliefs, followers refrain from activities such as writing before sunset on Saturdays. For this reason, the education board has arranged for them to take exams at night after sunset.
