Two detained near Tarique Rahman’s Gulshan residence

Dhaka police and the Chairperson Security Force (CSF) on Sunday (January 4) detained two individuals near the Gulshan residence of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

At 10:50am, Md Ruhul Amin, 46, a resident of Motlob South Upazila in Chandpur, was apprehended for allegedly taking photos of the house and vehicles. Officials said his actions appeared suspicious, prompting questioning and subsequent detention.

Around 11:15am, another individual, Md Omar Faruk, was detained in front of the same residence. His identity is yet to be confirmed. During a body search, police reportedly recovered two small packets of cannabis from him.

Both detainees are currently under investigation at Gulshan Police Station, with legal action underway.
