Two foreign vessels collided in the outer anchorage of Chattogram port on Friday. The collision occurred around 12:30pm in the port's waters between the motor tanker 'Sea Spike' and the bulk carrier 'Sun Shine'. Chattogram Port Secretary Syed Kefayet Hamim confirmed the incident, saying both vessels involved in the collision are foreign-flagged. Rescue and assistance operations began immediately after the accident. Along with Chattogram port tugs, Navy and Coast Guard members are involved in the response efforts. However, no immediate details were available regarding casualties or damage to the vessels.

চট্টগ্রাম বন্দরের বহির্নোঙরে দুটি বিদেশি জাহাজের মধ্যে সংঘর্ষের ঘটনা ঘটেছে। শুক্রবার (১৪ আগস্ট) দুপুর সাড়ে ১২টার দিকে চট্টগ্রাম বন্দরের জলসীমায় মোটর ট্যাংকার ‘সি স্পাইক’ ও বাল্ক ক্যারিয়ার ‘সান শাইন’ নামের জাহাজ দুটির মধ্যে এ সংঘর্ষ হয়। চট্টগ্রাম বন্দরের সচিব সৈয়দ কেফায়েত হামিম বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন। তিনি জানান, সংঘর্ষে জড়িত দুটি জাহাজই বিদেশি। দুর্ঘটনার পরপরই উদ্ধার ও সহায়তা কার্যক্রম শুরু হয়েছে। উদ্ধার তৎপরতায় চট্টগ্রাম বন্দরের টাগবোটের পাশাপাশি নৌবাহিনী ও কোস্ট গার্ডের সদস্যরা কাজ করছেন। তবে সংঘর্ষে কোনো হতাহত বা জাহাজের ক্ষয়ক্ষতির বিষয়ে তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে বিস্তারিত তথ্য পাওয়া যায়নি।
