Two former MPs among 13 AL leaders, activists arrested
Detective branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police have arrested 13 leaders and activists of banned Awami League, including former Brahmanbaria-5 lawmaker Faizur Rahman Badal and former reserved-seat MP Tamanna Nusrat Bubly.
They were arrested in a raid conducted on Sunday, September 28, according to reports.
The matter was confirmed by Muhammad Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner of the DMP’s public relations department.
However, DB police have not yet disclosed details of the locations from where they were arrested.
DMP deputy commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman stated that the DB has arrested a total of 13 leaders and activists of the banned Awami League, including two former MPs, under the Anti-Terrorism Act. The arrests were made based on specific allegations and intelligence operations. Legal action against them is underway.
