At least two people were killed after a passenger bus lost control and crashed into a foot overbridge in the capital’s Mohakhali area on Thursday (April 23). According to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police traffic division, the accident occurred in front of the Setu Bhaban when a bus of Bhuiyan Paribahan veered off the road and struck the structure. The impact left two people dead on the spot. Their identities could not be immediately confirmed, but police said both were workers of the city corporation. Local residents rushed to the scene shortly after the crash and assisted in rescue efforts before emergency responders arrived. Authorities said the exact cause of the accident is under investigation.

রাজধানীর মহাখালীতে সেতু ভবনের সামনে নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিয়ে একটি যাত্রীবাহী বাস ফুটওভার ব্রিজে ধাক্কা দিলে ঘটনাস্থলেই দুজন নিহত হয়েছেন। ঢাকা মহানগর পুলিশের ট্রাফিক বিভাগ সূত্রে এ তথ্য নিশ্চিত করা হয়েছে। 'ভূঁইয়া পরিবহন' নামের বাসটি হঠাৎ নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিয়ে সড়কের পাশের ফুটওভার ব্রিজে সজোরে আঘাত হানে। দুর্ঘটনার পরপরই স্থানীয়রা এগিয়ে এসে উদ্ধার কার্যক্রম শুরু করেন। নিহত দুজনের নাম-পরিচয় এখনো জানা যায়নি। তবে পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, তারা দুজনই সিটি করপোরেশনের শ্রমিক।
