Two killed, four injured in truck-CNG collision in Trishal

Two passengers were killed and four others, including a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver, were injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw at Trishal in Mymensingh.

The accident took place around 8:30am at Thakur Bari intersection on the Trishal-Balipara road on Monday morning (August 31).

According to police and local sources, a truck travelling towards Balipara collided head-on with the auto-rickshaw heading towards Trishal, leaving an unidentified man, around 35, and a woman, around 40, dead on the spot.

The injured were taken to Trishal Upazila Health Complex by locals. Two of them, identified as Faizul, 34, and Rubel, 30, were later referred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in critical condition.

The other two injured, Hridoy, 22, and Nabil, 22, are receiving treatment at the Trishal health complex.

Trishal police Sub-Inspector Rezaul Karim said the bodies had been recovered. The truck driver fled the scene after the crash, and police are working to identify and arrest him.
