Two killed, six injured in Gaibandha road accident

A truck collided with a CNG autorickshaw on the Dhaka-Dinajpur Highway in Gobindaganj of Gaibandha, killing two passengers — including a 19-day-old infant — and injuring six others. The crash occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Gobindaganj Police Station, a CNG autorickshaw was coming from Ghoraghat towards Gobindaganj town with passengers. At Kholshi area, in front of Moushumi Pump on the Gobindaganj-Dinajpur Road, a Dhaka-bound truck rammed the autorickshaw.

Six people were critically injured in the accident and taken to Gobindaganj Health Complex, where Jahidul Islam and a 19-day-old baby died. The others are now receiving treatment.

Gobindaganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bulbul Islam said, “Two of the injured died after being taken to the health complex, and the truck has been seized.”
