Two labourers killed as brick-laden truck falls into ditch in Brahmanbaria

Two labourers were killed after a brick-laden truck lost control and fell into a ditch by the roadside in Kasba, Brahmanbaria, on Monday morning, June 29. The driver and helper of the truck were seriously injured in the incident.

The accident occurred in the Mandarpur area of Badair union on the Tinlakhipir-Charghach road in the upazila. The deceased were identified as Masuk Mia, 18, and Arman Mia, 17, from the Baishamora area of Sarail upazila in the district.

According to Kasba Police Station Sub-Inspector Abdur Rahim, the truck was carrying bricks from a brick kiln towards Charghach when the driver lost control near Mandarpur, causing the vehicle to fall into the ditch. Two labourers on the truck died on the spot. Locals rescued the injured driver and helper and sent them to Brahmanbaria General Hospital in critical condition.

Police have recovered the bodies and initiated the autopsy process.
