Two more deaths from dengue

Two people died from dengue between 8am on Sunday and 8am on Monday. During the same period, 455 patients were admitted to hospital with dengue.

The information was confirmed in a press release issued on Monday, December 8, by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services.

According to the release, those admitted include 57 in Barishal division, 51 in Chattogram, 53 in Dhaka (outside city corporations), 106 in Dhaka North City, 55 in Dhaka South City, 44 in Khulna (outside city corporations), 32 in Mymensingh (outside city corporations), 48 in Rajshahi (outside city corporations), 3 in Rangpur (outside city corporations) and 6 in Sylhet (outside city corporations).

In the last 24 hours, 488 patients were discharged from hospitals nationwide. So far this year, 96,232 patients have recovered and returned home.

From January 2025 until now, 98,284 dengue patients have been hospitalised and 398 people have died. Comparatively, in 2024 dengue caused 1,014 deaths with 1,011,214 hospital admissions, while in 2023 the number of deaths was 1,705 and hospital admissions reached 321,179.
