Two more dengue deaths, 327 hospitalised in 24 hours

Two more people have died from dengue in the past 24 hours, while 327 new patients have been hospitalised, according to the health department.

One of the deceased was a resident of Dhaka division, and the other from Chattogram division. With the latest figures, the total number of dengue deaths this year has risen to 27, with nine deaths occurring in the first 12 days of July alone.

Dhaka division reported the highest number of new hospitalisations at 142, with 296 patients currently undergoing treatment. A total of 12 deaths have been reported from Dhaka division this year.

Barishal division saw 61 new hospitalisations, with 197 patients currently undergoing treatment.

In the capital, 38 patients were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka North City Corporation, 43 in Dhaka South City Corporation, and 61 in hospitals outside the two city corporations.

In the past 24 hours, 230 patients have recovered and been discharged. Since January 1, a total of 8,650 dengue patients have been hospitalised, of whom 7,800 have returned home.
