Two more die of dengue

Two more people have died from dengue in the last 24 hours from Sunday 8 am to Monday 8 am, while 1,179 patients have been hospitalised during the period.

The information was revealed in a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Monday, November 10.

According to the report, 1,179 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in the last 24 hours. Of them, 169 in Barishal Division, 151 in Chattogram Division, 239 in Dhaka Division (outside city corporations), 172 in Dhaka North City, 157 in Dhaka South City, 70 in Khulna Division (outside city corporations), 89 in Mymensingh Division (outside city corporations), 109 in Rajshahi Division (outside city corporations), 12 in Rangpur Division (outside city corporations), eight in Sylhet Division (outside city corporations), and three others in different districts.

Meanwhile, 1,116 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries this year to 76,009.

Since January this year, a total of 79,722 patients have been hospitalised with dengue, and 315 have died so far.

Notably, from January 1 to December 31 in 2024, 101,214 dengue patients were hospitalised and 575 died. In 2023, 1,705 people died and 321,179 were hospitalised with dengue.
